Muay Thai
We worked on the 15 count for muay thai. I guess it is a combination sequence that can be followed for shadowboxing. We went through all the moves individually making sure we had the correct technique, but we didn't tie them all together at this point. We then did 2 rounds of 3 minutes kicking the pads and then some ab work.

I rolled with Pat who has gotten significantly better. I'd say we rolled for around 20-25 minutes going back and forth without a submission. Eventually I did end up locking up a straight armbar from side control, but I set it up kind of weird. I positioned myself more like a kimura, sitting on his head, than I did sit back more perpendicular to him. He tapped but I think mainly because he felt it locked in but not necessarily any pain.

At this time I was pretty exhausted and my neck started to hurt pretty bad. It was sore from this weekend, nothing in particular, maybe from defending a guillotine attempt. But it was pretty bad and I considered not doing class. Instead I informed the coach that my neck was sore and he told me to do what I can and take it easy. He even paired me up with the smaller guys just so I wouldn't have too much stress put on it.
We did the same drills on the feet....Increasing from a jab to a kickboxing match. When we got to the clinch I sat out so i didn't get caught in a thai clinch and jack up my neck. We then did some ground stuff, and I just warned my partners to take it easy on the neck, which they did. I feel I did pretty well on the ground, I think ground and pound is my forte'. My size and strength allows me to keep my base and still throw punches while opponents are trying to escape. When i was on bottom I felt I also did well avoiding strikes and getting escapes.
Techinque was taking the back and flattening the opponent out.
